Founder Sue DiFranco's Professional Biography How Fun Facts Publishing Was Born They say the key to true success and happiness is to figure out what you really love to do, and then figure out how to turn that into a career. That's how Fun Facts Publishing was born... My name is Sue DiFranco. I love scrapbooking and I love to write. In the beginning of 1998 I was trying to figure out what I really wanted to do with my life. At the time, I was heavily into scrapbooking and was becoming inspired by all the business owners I was meeting. They had found the key! They had truly turned their passion into profits. I began to do research and interview them, and established Fun Facts Publishing in March 1998. Soon thereafter, Secrets of Scrapbooking Success: Making Money, Making Memories - The Definitive Guide to Turning Your Passion Into Profit, the first full-length book concentrating solely on scrapbook-based careers, was published. I relocated to New York City from Los Angeles in April 2000 with my husband and business partner Michael Venzor, and began work on my second book. Memory Marketing: How To Successfully Promote and Publicize Your Scrapbooking Business, is a companion guide to Secrets and is the first and only marketing book targeted to scrapbooking business owners. I wrote several more books and reports after that, all including information on various topics important for scrapbook business owners. In 2002 I started traveling across the country with Michael, teaching seminars on scrapbook business topics at scrapbook conventions and the major trade shows: ACCI, HIA, National Stationery Show, and MemoryTrends. (Click here to see our Travel Journal and Scrapbook.) I also began doing personal consulting to help future scrapbook business owners one-on-one. We later published two new books: Make Money Making Scrapbooks For Others: The Complete Manual For Creating The Career of Your Dreams™, and Scrapbook U-Diversity™: Redefining The Scrapbooking Industry. I hope, if nothing else, these books, reports, Web site, and seminars inspire you to follow your dreams. Sure, there might be people who discourage you (some of them may even be close friends and family), but don't listen to them. You can do whatever it is you want to do. Believe it. I love being a part of this industry and watching it grow. It's so exciting! But by far my favorite part of owning this business is the fact that I am able to help and inspire others. I feel that is what I was truly put here to do, and I am so grateful that I get to live my dream. You can too - we all can!
