Frequently Asked Questions
What is International Scrapbooking Industry Day?
On this day, we celebrate both the growth of the scrapbooking industry and the dedicated entrepreneurs who have worked so hard to make it happen.
Why was it created?
We want to increase awareness of the scrapbooking industry so that everyone across the world recognizes it as a growing and powerful industry, with many unique aspects. The growth of the industry has been fueled mostly by entrepreneurs, many of them women, who took their passion for scrapbooking and built a business around it. This industry, perhaps more than any other, truly reflects the entrepreneurial age of the '90s and '00s.
We also hope this day will help us all reflect on ways we can continue to advance this industry to share the gift of scrapbooking with everyone.
We decided to celebrate this day in March, as March is also National Craft Month, sponsored by the Hobby Industry Association.
What's the difference between this day and National Scrapbook Day in May?
National Scrapbook Day, originally created by Creative Memories®, is a day that celebrates scrapbooking. International Scrapbooking Industry Day is a day to increase awareness of the actual industry of scrapbooking, and to highlight the advancements of the industry as a whole, as well as all of the individuals who have played an important role in its growth.
Scrapbook businesses and companies should certainly plan events and send out press releases for both days if they choose; the two days are completely separate and can be uniquely celebrated.
Who created it?
International Scrapbooking Industry Day was created by Fun Facts Publishing. We have been helping to promote and celebrate the scrapbooking industry since we launched our company in 1998, and creating an official "holiday" seemed like the next step. You can read more about this company here.
Why call it "International?"
Just as scrapbook enthusiasts don't all live in the U.S., the scrapbooking industry is also a global enterprise. We wanted to recognize the many stores, manufacturers, service providers, media, and more, who are helping advance the industry across the world.
Who should be involved?
You! If you're a part of the industry in any capacity, you should think about being involved. That includes retailers, custom scrapbook artists, designers/manufacturers, direct sales consultants, event organizers, instructors, and more!

Why should I email my event/plans to you?

Also, we're expecting the media to come to this site looking for more information. If they are also seeking a local connection to the scrapbooking industry, your contact information will be there for them.
