Sue DiFranco, Founder This tip comes to us from custom scrapbook artist Diane Rodriguez: Store owners, give your fellow scrapbookers a place to unload all their unwanted items. Many scrapbookers buy, buy, buy, and before they know it, they have more than they can scrapbook with, or their style changes. Schedule a quarterly garage sale, where you rent the tables and the scrapbooker unloads unwanted items. The shoppers win because they get great bargains, the sellers win because they make back some money, and the store wins because they make money with the tables. And nine times out of ten, where do you think the sellers spend their money? That's right - buying more scrapbook must-have items! If you don't have the room or time to offer a garage sale, another alternative would be an advertisement board - simply rent the flyer space. Good Luck! Great tip, Diane! Thank you! Meet Becky Filler and Denise Rockvam, owners of Scissor Sisters, in our latest "In The ScrapLight" interview! These two sisters and business partners currently offer 20 themed cardstock stickers, all designed to have the look of dimensions, layers, and textures - but without all the bulk. Becky and Denise officially launched their company early this year, after many months of research and preparation. Their designs, available wholesale to retail scrapbook stores, include hard-to-find themes, such as Adoption and In Loving Memory. "We found that certain topics were difficult to create layouts for because they were missing from the scrapbooking market," Denise notes. "We want to make it easier for scrapbookers to create meaningful layouts, whatever the subject." Learn how Becky and Denise launched their company, how they got their product to scrapbook stores across the world, and the advice they have for you - in this exclusive "In The ScrapLight" interview! When our Internet Service Provider, which will remain nameless, suddenly changed their policies and limited the amount of daily emails we were allowed to send to 1000, we grew desperate. With an ezine subscriber list of more than 9,000, it would take at least nine days to send out each issue! After days of research and experiments with various services, we finally discovered an email service provider who fit all our needs. Intellicontact charges per subscriber - not per email - and has extremely reasonable fees. You can choose between HTML or text versions of each email, and they handle all list management details. And best of all, it takes just 30 minutes to send 9,000 issues! Click
here to learn if Intellicontact is the right fit for your business! Our Classifieds section features scrapbook business owners who are looking for help. If you're a teacher looking for a place to teach, or an event organizer looking for a teacher, this is the place to do it! If you're looking to sell your store, or hire some help, this is the place to do it! Several new classifieds have been added this month. To view the current
list, please click here.
