Tips
For Super Bowl Sunday |

This day presents unlimited marketing
opportunities. Here are just some of the ways to cash in on this frenzied,
football-filled day:
Football Widows Crop Or Class
Hold a special crop and/or class for all of the 'football widows' who would
otherwise be lost in a living room of beer, Tostitos, and a too-loud television.
(Of course, not every woman belongs in this category. There are many who
enjoy the sport.)
Begin announcing the event several
weeks prior:
Put signage in your store
Announce it on your Web site
Put it in your newsletter or Ezine
Send a direct mail piece to your mailing
list
Tell everyone you know
There are many ways to make this crop cute and memorable. Why not have
everyone wear a football jersey, or at least smear some black lines on their
face? Come up with a cute title for the class or crop, and design games and
pages around football 'themes.' Don't forget the snacks!
Football Fotos Class
They might not be playing in the Super Bowl yet, but many
scrapbooking parents have children involved in the sport. (This, of course,
includes cheerleading.) Why not offer a special class for scrappers who want to
make football pages? Another idea would be to encourage scrappers to take photos
of their family¹s version of Super Bowl Sunday and scrap those pictures.
Product Designers: Put Your Helmets On!
Whether you're a paper piecing whiz or a sticker inventor, make sure you
have products lined up and ready to go to capitalize on the football craze. Send
samples and news releases out to the media several months in advance. If you
offer your products wholesale, make sure samples are in the hands of storeowners
by the time January hits.
Storeowners, Both Retail and Online
Arrange your football merchandise in a pleasing display. Set aside a special
Web page that groups your football products together and announce it on your
Home page. Show some layout examples. Offer a special 'sale' on your
football-themed merchandise.
